HTC Sensation 4G

All I can say is WOW! This phone will be a beast when it is released for T-mobile in the US. It will have some of the best specs of any phone currently out or coming out in the near future.

  • qHD display: This will give the display a 540x960 resolution. This translates to much finer detail in images, video, texts, and the new senseUI!
  • New SenseUI: this is the new version 3.0 of the SenseUI by HTC You can check out snippets of it in the screenshot above and below. It provides a new version of the Sense lock screen, which allows the user to drag applications to a certain circular section of the screen to open the application. They have also added new lock screen animations for weather, stocks, pictures and other widget apps. Also, this new UI is not going to be developed for phone already out with the 2.1 SenseUI, only HTC phones coming out now will have Sense 3.0 installed.
  • RAM: This phone will have 768mb. In my opinion, more than enough for a phone. There are a couple of phones like the HTC Evo3d that will have 1gb but I do not think a user will notice the difference in performance.
  • Camera: VGA front camera and an 8mp rear camera will allow you to have a huge resolution for a phone to go with that qHD display. The rear camera also has a dual LED flash for more light when taking a picture with  limited ambient lighting conditions. The ultimate camera test though will be when someone can take some pictures with the camera and compare the image quality to cameras of other phones.
  • Processor: The Sensation has the new dual-core processor made by Qualcomm which is clocked at 1.2ghz! Performance benchmarks will determine how it compares to other dual-core processors by Nvidia, TI, etc, but a dual-core processor in a phone is a pretty substantial upgrade for anyone who has a phone that is even only less than a year old.

Some draw backs that might deter some people from picking up this phone might be the battery size, which is only 1520mAH, little smaller than comparable phones. Some enthusiasts might not like the amount of RAM compared to similar phones in the same price range. Also, the amount of internal storage is a little less than the competition at only 1gb; although, it has 8gb memory card that comes with the device. I do not see how someone can fill up a phone with more than 1gb of android applicaitons with an average size maybe of only 3-5mb. The biggest detractor in my opinion thought of this device is the uncertainty of the future of T-mobile since it might be getting bought by AT&T, which I hope does not happen!
