ESET Nod32

Today I am here to talk about a product that I have been using for quite some time, NOD32 by ESET. ESET develops software solutions that deliver instant, comprehensive protection against evolving computer security threats. We pioneered and continue to lead the industry in proactive threat detection. ESET NOD32 Antivirus, our flagship product, consistently achieves the highest accolades in all types of comparative testing and is the foundational product that builds out the ESET product line to include ESET Smart Security.

ESET Smart Security is an integrated antivirus, antispyware, antispam and personal firewall solution that combines accuracy, speed and an extremely small system footprint to create the most effective security solution in the industry.

Their most complete protection suite is the ESET Smart Security. this software consists of:
  • Antivirus: Protects you against files that may cause harm to your computer.
  • Antispyware: Protects you against attacks that might try and steal your information.
  • Firewall: Protects you from hackers trying to infiltrate your computer.
  • Atispam: Blocks unwanted messages in email and through your browser.
ESET also has a regular NOD32 Antivirus application which will give you basic but needed protection from viruses and spyware which are two of the most common threats lurking on the internet.

They also offer software for Mac, Linux, and mobile phones which run windows, or symbian os.

"In-the-Wild" viruses are real viruses that have been reported to the Wildlist Organization by at least two independent reporters. When it comes to In-the-Wild virus detection, no one even comes close to ESET as the following chart illustrates.

This graph shows the number of viruses other antivirus softwares such as Norton, McAfee, TrendMiro, or AVG miss compared to ESET's NOD32 virus protection. Lower is obviously better; NOD32 picks up every  virus that other antivirus software miss, AVG being the most prone in this case.

NOD32 also is not considered a "bloatware" antivirus application. It does not fill up your hard drive with tons of unnecessary bits. It only installs preceise to the point files that tackle your problems and protect in a concise manner. NOD32's installation directory is only 155MB. Compare that to Symantec's Norton which is 217MB, a full 62MB more unneeded space taken up. Or, McAfee which installs at 307MB! Or, Kasperky and F-Secure which install at over 500MB! That is over 345MB of space saved by installing NOD32. That right there shows how percise and direct NOD32 is at getting to the point and not messing around. Their software takes less disk space and does a better job at protecting you than its competition.

Check out these awards NOD32 has received and then try the software out for yourself to understand the type of protection will will receive with NOD32.
